Cries of the Damned
About Us
More than five years have passed since the incident with the Opera Ghost. Most assume he died when the mobs burned his home beneath the building to the ground. In all actuality, he has retreated to the countryside to live in peace for the rest of his days. Unfortunately, those peaceful days are about to be disrupted by a neighbor.

Vlad Dracula, on the run from Van Helsing, who he hopes believes him dead, has bought the land right next to Erik's estate. Things seem peaceful enough at first, though his new neighbor has odd habits. But when a grumpy older gentleman shows up asking odd questions, Erik gets suspicious. Soon to learn that there are other things in the night besides him, it will be a hard lesson indeed, if both he and the Count are to survive.

For centuries, an unknowing world has been protected by their own religions from the darkness of the undead.

In England, the Protestants are protected by the Hellsing Organization and their great monster vampire, Alucard.

In Italy, the Catholics watch over their loyal followers with the Iscariot Organization.

And while these two mighty organizations have been at each others throats for decades, another organization protects the western world; undetected for thousands of years.

Sanctuary

Also known as the Gaurdians of the Weeping Theotokos, these men and woman are located on the northern tip of Greece. These brothers and sisters follow the Eastern Orthodox religion and gaurd one of its most valuable treasure....

.....and weapon.

A weapon that can kill a true vampire instantly. A weapon that can bless or curse an entire nation. A weapon that keeps the Sanctuary hidden from those with an evil heart, yet welcomes the pure inside with a warm embrace.

And as the war with Millennium rages on, the two monster organizations take a second look at the small group of vampire hunters. How could a whole division of Millennium troops be dystroyed by only two brothers? Hellsing and Iscariot are determined to find out.

Which side shall they chose? Will they fight with the brothers, or cause their downfall?

::True Theotokos, ever blessed and the mother of our God. Pray for us today oh most glorious one.... amen::

 **Plot Characters**
« Result #2 on Jun 20, 2007, 9:47pm »

There are a number of characters quite relevant to the plot. They are listed below, along with the requirements for taking on one of them. Keep in mind that some of them are already taken and there will be no arguing this point. Keep in mind also, that although things such as vampires and ghosts do exist, as do werewolves, I want to keep a lot of that out of the plot at first.

Plot Characters and requirements to play them

Erik, the Phantom--Taken

Christine de Chagny
-must be able to post at least 5 posts a week, 2 para or more average.
-must be familiar with PotO and Dracula
-must be alright with her being married to Raoul

Vicomte Raoul de Chagny
-must post at least 5 times a week, 2 paras or more.
-must be familiar with PotO and Dracula--at least PotO.
-must be alright with having character married to Christine.

Vlad Dracula--Taken

Mina Harker--Taken

Professor Abraham Van Helsing--Taken

The Managers
-must be able to post at least 5 times a week.
-must be familiar with PotO.
-can change them--doesn't have to be the original managers.

Chief of Police
-must post at least 5 times a week.
-need to know both PotO and Dracula
-can be an OC, so long as he's approved by admin.

 Advertising and Affiliation Rules
« Result #5 on Jun 20, 2007, 8:36pm »

Rules for Advertising:

-You may only advertise here. Do not advertise in the C-box or I will delete the ad here.

-Only post one advertisement. Harassment of my members will result in you being banned.

-Be clear as to what your site is about. Don't just post up a link and expect us to follow it. Ads of that sort WILL be deleted.

-No adult content type sites. By this I am not referring to RPs that may contain adult themes every so often. I am referring to porn or smut type sites. Anything posted of this sort will be immediately deleted and you will be reported.

-If you advertise here, expect me to advertise on your site as well. It's only fair.

-Don't spam the c-box with nonsense or begging for members. That's the same as harassing us and you will be asked to leave.

-These rules are subject to change at any time.

Affiliation

-Ask to affiliate here only once. Repeated nagging to affiliate will bring an instant negative response.

-Wait to hear back from me before posting my banner.

-Post my banner in your affiliates box within two days of my accepting your request. Failure to do so will result in my taking down your ad/refusing to affiliate.

-Make certain that you have a banner I can post on my site. Make sure you have the code for it as well.

-These rules are subject to change at any time.

Thank you.

 Basic Rules
« Result #6 on Jun 20, 2007, 8:30pm »

These are the basic rules of the RP.

1-No God-modding. I hate having to remind people of this, but it's happened too often recently for me to just leave it be. If you are caught doing this, you will be given one and only ONE warning. After that, your posting ability will be taken away for one week. The second time you are warned, you'll be denied the ability to RP for a month. Third strike is your last. Do it again, and you are
banned from the group.

2-No one liners please. Each post should be at least a paragraph, if not longer. It's not that hard to come up with at least four to five sentences for a single post. I can whip out 20 paragraph posts with no trouble, with only a few things as subjects. Yet it doesn't seem long or drawn out. I expect this to be followed. I will give you warnings. You'll have plenty of chances, but I will keep record of
how many times you break this rule. After the fourth or fifth violation--depending on how close together they are, your post will be deleted and ignored.

3-Play nicely with each other, please? I really hate bickering. It happens too often lately, and internet bullying will NOT be tolerated.

4- Please check your spelling and the like. It's not that hard to run something through a spell check. It's one thing if a few words here and there are misspelled, but when every other word is wrong it gets irritating.

5- NO CHATSPEAK ALLOWED IN CHARACTER! If I catch you doing this, or someone else reports it, expect to have the ENTIRE post deleted and you will be asked to redo it. I cannot stand chatspeak. If you have problems coming up with longer posts, or have a hard time with keeping the chatspeak out of it, ask me for help, and
I'd be glad to help you learn to rp better. BUT, do not expect me to reply to said posts.

6- OCs are perfectly welcome. I love to have OCs interact with the cannon characters. I do have one rule, however. They cannot have special powers, Godlike abilities or anything that does not fit with the storyline. If it fits the story, go ahead, but check with me first. Otherwise, NOT allowed.

7- As this is a Phantom RP, there are several points and a set of 'mini-rules' other than your basics that I'll address here.

a-The Phantom is a lonely man. He does not, however, fall for the
first pretty face he sees. Especially not after Christine. He loves her, and only her during the actual events. Afterword, if a well developed OC comes along and catches his fancy--fine. But don't try to force said OC down our poor phantom's throat... or you're likely to find yourself short one OC.

b- There are certain rules one must follow while in the Opera House. Don't expect to be let off the hook easily should you break the rules. The managers will have every right to throw your character out should he/she do something uncalled for.

c- The phantom's home, or lair, depending on the version is not easy to find. It is protected by many things. Firstly, five cellars of storage space, furnaces and back rooms with forgotten meanings. That is, in and of itself, a labyrinth. Then you have the catacombs below the actual cellars. They ARE a labyrinth, where everyone but those closest to Erik will get lost. Even Mme Giry, Nadir, and Christine will, on occasion, find themselves turned around there. Next you have the lake itself. The lake is wide, though not very deep. It has an unending mist that constantly wafts across. You cannot see the far shore. As such, for those Phantoms who have a lair--it is impossible to guess where their home is located exactly. For those Phantoms who have an actual house, it is even better protected, with a double-thick metal door, hidden behind a thick wooden door. As if this isn't enough, the other entrance is guarded by a mirrored torture chamber. So don't have your character go wandering and somehow *gaspshock!* end up either finding him or herself in the home/lair, or just outside. There is no possible way they could find the entrance. If you must have them stumble across it--it would have to be the entrance in the 3rd cellar where the torture chamber is.

d- Erik, our Ghost, is temperamental. Should you anger him in some way, expect a retaliation. If you decide to have your character wander below, I reserve the right, as does Erik, to kill your cannon or OC. So, just a piece of advice? Don't wander below--or onto his country estate.

8-Absolutely no Mary Sues. If a character has been approved by myself or Trace, then they are not considered by us to be a Mary Sue, but a well developed OC. Do not hassle the poor members about this. I've had this happen one too many times to count. No male counterparts to the Mary Sue either.

9- To borrow something my good friend and adopted little brother has said many times before, "I have been rp-ing for years and have developed my own style. I won't change it just because someone doesn't like it. Also, I spend time researching and developing my characters, so if you don't like the way I play them.... tough." I believe that about sums it up.

10- Lastly and most importantly, in my eyes--This is a game, and meant to be fun. Let's not spoil it by taking things too seriously. I know sometimes you can become wrapped up in your character, but keep in mind that there is a basic story that the owner usually wants to tell. Remember, that this is a free-form rp, but that the owner is your GM of sorts and has final say in the matter on what goes on in the rp. This doesn't mean you can't have your fun.
Just remember to check with us first before doing something that drastically affects the storyline or any major characters, OC or cannon.

 Rules of Engagement
« Result #7 on Jun 20, 2007, 8:25pm »

These are the basics to keep in mind when battling.

1-If it's a plot specific battle, there is usually a side already determined to win. Please don't argue this point. Nothing you say/do is going to change our minds on this. It's something to help forward the story.

2-If there are already people involved in the fight, don't just jump in, guns blazing. Ask in OOC first if it's alright.

3-For main battles, a list will be made in "Plots" of who needs to join in. If your character is not listed and you want to fight, contact the admin, moderator, or player who started the thread.

4-If they are main characters battling, do not kill one of them off. I don't care how much you've always wanted to, they're needed for the story. This doesn't mean they can't be badly wounded however.

5-Small player battles don't need to be judged by a third party, but if you wish for a moderator or an admin to decide the outcome, PM them and ask. They'll be more than willing to. Just be prepared to accept their decision.

5a-The only exception to 5 is this: if you are challenging for a rank or position. In this case, the battle MUST have a third party not involved in the fight to decide the outcome.

6-No autoing/god-modding. This becomes more than slightly annoying to players who wish to engage in a fair fight. You can't just hit your opponent without their player agreeing to it. You can, however, write that they attacked, and leave it open for the other member to allow a hit to fall. This does not mean that you can dodge every attack. No one is that perfect--not even Tres. You will be hit at least a few times in the course of a battle. If you have problems with someone doing this, contact an admin, because it will NOT be tolerated.

7-The consent rule. Make sure your opponent actually is willing to fight before attacking them, because they reserve the right to look at your character and just walk away, if they so choose. It's always better to check with them in a PM or a thread in "Plots" first before doing anything.

8-These rules are subject to change at any time, and more will be added later. Don't argue with us on these.
